Goes Heating Systems has been the leader in South Texas in the design and promotion of the hybrid boiler system. All too often the heating systems are not designed for high efficiency boilers and money is wasted or never recouped in relation to the investment. The hybrid boiler system is the most efficient system that money can buy. In most cases the investment is recouped in as little as two years. The Hybrid boiler system consists of using HydroTherm’s fully condensing boiler sized for 20% of the heat load and the balance 80% using RBI’s modulating non condensing vertical boilers. The condensing HydroTherm boiler is designed for low entering water temperatures and low flow rates to achieve condensing conditions. HydroTherm cast iron fully modulating boilers are best suited for South Texas when water temperatures less than 120 degrees are common for reheat or where cold starts are used in normal operation. Most new and existing systems are sized for 20 degree outdoor temperatures with 180 degree supply temperatures which very seldom are reached but for a few days ayear. 80% of the time, 20% of the design load will be handled by the condensing HydroTherm boiler and will achieve efficiencies in the mid to high 90’s. When temperatures drop in the winter months, additional heat is needed as well as hotter return water above 120 degrees where condensing will not occur. Non condensing RBI Vertical boilers will be turned on to satisfy additional load requirements. By coupling the two boilers together with similar on board (HeatNet) controls, there is no heating system more efficient when used in this matter.
